stem activities
AAPAC has provided online resources for teachers which consist of descriptions and links to videos for five STEM activities. Teachers can execute these activities with their classrooms any time next week in between classes (or anytime after President's week). Some of these activities can be done outdoors.
In order to plan for the right number of "STEM kits", ALL teachers planning to participate in the STEM activities will need to complete a participation engagement form. Please fill these out NO LATER THAN Thursday, February 9, 3 pm. |
classroom host
We are looking for 4 teachers & classrooms to volunteer to act as "CLASSROOM HOST".
- The "CLASSROOM HOST" will play a key role in keeping the sessions dynamic and interactive.
- The host welcomes the guests, sets the tone of the session, decides when the class needs a stretch break, and moderates the Q&A Period. During the Q&A, the host will select the order in which classroom(s) will get to pose questions to guests and will be tasked with keeping students engaged.
- If teachers are willing to volunteer their classroom as the host for a day, please indicate so in the form and an AAPAC coordinator will be in touch over the next few days with more info
- Please note that an AAPAC parent will be attending each session as a "virtual host" to facilitate and help manage the zoom (e.g. muting classrooms during sessions)
- The virtual sessions will be recorded and the recordings will be made available to the teachers after the event. Any recordings will be edited before being posted anywhere.
